A Legacy of Faith and Service
Pasay Adventist Church has been a beacon of faith, service, and community for over a century. From humble beginnings in 1917 as a small group of worshippers within an Adventist school, we have grown into a vibrant congregation dedicated to spreading the gospel, nurturing disciples, and serving our neighbors.
Through times of war, rebuilding, and transformation, God’s hand has guided our journey. What began as a simple gathering of believers has flourished into a thriving church that continues to educate, evangelize, and embrace the needs of our community.

Foundations of Faith
Laying the Foundation: The Beginnings of Pasay Adventist Church
The roots of Pasay Adventist Church can be traced back to the early 1900s, a time of great missionary activity in the Philippines. With a growing community of believers, there was a pressing need for education, worship, and fellowship. What began as an Adventist school in Pasay soon became the birthplace of a congregation that would stand the test of time.

Milestones During the Early Years
A Vision for Education
Elder Arthur G. Daniells, then General Conference President, visited the Philippines and recognized the need for an Adventist educational institution to nurture young believers in faith and service.
The Plan Takes Shape
The General Conference officially approved the establishment of an Adventist school in the country, marking a crucial step toward fulfilling the church’s mission in Pasay.
The Birth of Seventh-day Adventist Academy
The Seventh-day Adventist Academy opened in Pasay with 36 students, laying the foundation for both Adventist education and a growing faith community.
A Church is Born
The first congregation, Pasay English Church, was officially organized under the leadership of Elder Lewis V. Finster. Baptisms began, and members worshiped in classrooms, strengthening their spiritual connection.
Expanding the Mission
The Pasay Adventist Elementary School was established, reinforcing the church’s commitment to providing Adventist education and shaping future generations.
Recognized as Pasay Adventist Church
As the congregation grew beyond classroom worship, the believers took a significant step in formally recognizing Pasay Adventist Church, setting the stage for future expansion and a permanent place of worship.

The Birth of a Worship Community
As the Seventh-day Adventist Academy in Pasay flourished, students and teachers gathered for worship in the classrooms, marking the humble beginnings of what would later become the Pasay Adventist Church. The school became a spiritual hub, nurturing faith alongside education.
When the congregation grew too large for the school, members began holding worship services in their homes and rented spaces. This small but dedicated group of believers eventually secured a permanent place of worship, setting the stage for the church’s continued growth.
Challenges and Resilience
Every great journey has its trials, and Pasay Adventist Church was no exception. From the challenges of World War II to relocations and rebuilding, our church community displayed remarkable faith, perseverance, and unity. Through every difficulty, God’s hand guided us, allowing us to grow stronger and continue our mission.
